Tattoo Portfolio
Fine line, single needle & tiny tattoos by Elmar
Every tattoo in this portfolio started with an idea.
Sometimes that idea arrived as a detailed sketch. Sometimes as a photograph, a memory or a few reference images. And sometimes it began with nothing more than: “I know what I want it to mean, but I don’t know what it should look like.”
At Elmar Tattoo in Amsterdam, I specialise in custom fine line, single needle and tiny tattoos, with a focus on clean design, precise execution and work that feels personal to the person wearing it.

Every tattoo is designed for a person, not a gallery
A portfolio can show you what I’ve made. But it shouldn’t become a catalogue of what you have to choose from. Your tattoo doesn’t need to look like anything on this page.
In fact, I’d rather it didn’t.
Use my portfolio to understand the kind of linework, level of detail and overall aesthetic you’re drawn to. Then bring me your idea.
That’s where your tattoo starts.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you recreate a tattoo from your portfolio?
I can create something inspired by the same style or subject, but I prefer not to make exact duplicates.
The tattoo in my portfolio was designed for another person.
Let’s use it to understand what you like and then create your own version.
Can I send you photographs as inspiration?
Absolutely.
Reference images are extremely useful.
Send photographs, artwork, screenshots or other tattoos that help communicate your idea.
You don’t need to find one image that represents exactly what you want.
Are all tattoos in your portfolio your own work?
Only display work on this portfolio that was tattooed by Elmar Tattoo. If collaborative or guest work is ever shown, it should be clearly identified.
Can my tattoo be completely custom?
Yes.
Custom work is central to the way I tattoo.
Your references and ideas become the starting point for a design created specifically for you.
Do you tattoo designs that aren’t shown in your portfolio?
Definitely.
A portfolio represents previous work, not the limits of what we can create.
If you’re unsure whether your idea fits my style, send it to me and we can discuss it.
Can I see healed tattoos?
Where healed photographs are available, I recommend displaying them clearly as healed work.
They provide a useful impression of how fine line and delicate tattoos settle into the skin.
Can I book after seeing something I like here?
Of course.
When contacting me, tell me which piece caught your attention and what you liked about it — the linework, composition, size, subject or placement.
That gives us a useful starting point without simply copying the tattoo.
Have an idea of your own?
You don’t need to find your tattoo in my portfolio. You only need somewhere to start. Send me your idea, reference images, approximate size and preferred placement.
We’ll take it from there.
